Well Chaps, here we go again.
Been up to Newcastle this morning, round trip of 500 miles to pick up the new project bike.
Not much to report so far, been clearing out the shed and garage to sort some room out.
Had it on charge for an hour, fired up straight away, runs well, but sounds like the headers are blowing.
First job on the list of many is to replace the bent forks.

Replace the bent forks, put a YZF750 swing arm on it, and completely change the body kit, and clean it all up.
Though things might change as i go along _________________ Rutz is my friend. |

A little bit done this morning, removed the old forks as one was bent, and refitted some new ones.

Here`s the latest.........
Bad news first, the rad is knackered, leaking like a sieve, has two big holes in the front, and the headers are rotten and full of holes. though i managed to save the exup valve and face plate.
The good news, i got the YZF750 swingarm fitted.
Its a straightforward swap, though Mrs RF9 had to help, placing the axle stands under the frame while i lifted the back end.
The only difference between the swingarms is the 750 is slightly narrower, you have to use the original 750 end caps which come with spacers in.
Heres the difference
And here are both sets of endcaps, the 750 are on top with spacers

Mark depends how much cash you want to throw at this bike. But I only paid £295 for 4-2-1 stainless steel headers and a stainless link pipe. And they work great. Also gives a huge choice of end cans over standard Ace pipework. Have a gander at www.performanceracingparts.co.uk He can also do road legal end cans very cheap. I baulked at paying Akrapovic's price, about £600 all in. _________________ www.anymotorcycle.proboards.com |

Cheers Yoda, just looking at all my options at the moment, thinking of getting a set of FZR headers, i know they`ll fit with a slight adjustment of the rad.
Did your pipes work out ok, i presume you had no exup valve fitted? No rejetting or extra tuning etc required? _________________ Rutz is my friend. |
