FZR 1000 Genesis using Exup carbs

Has anyone done this before or heard of using the Exup carbs on a Genesis engine?

I was talking to a lad who said he used to run his genesis race bike with exup carbs and said it made the world of difference... He said the airbox didn't fit, so he used the K&N filters...

Thoughts?
Yeah, I'm that loud mouth yank that sits in the corner and only ever says "DDDUUUUUUDDDEEEEEE!!!!!!!"
