Solenoid
Solenoid
Does anybody know if a starter solenoid from a 1988 fzr1000 is the same as one from a 89/90 model?
Bit of advice. Buy a good bed and a good pair of shoes, because if you aren't in one you'll be in the other.

Re: Solenoid
I did have a problem. I thought it was a dying battery at first, but it turned out to be dead solenoid. I had a spare one in stock, so changed it, and all sorted now. I have seen one for a 1988 model on flea bay but not sure if it’s the same as a 1989/1990. From what I’ve seen on eBay the one from an RU isn’t compatible with my model, which I find a bit odd? I’m wanting another one just for a spare. I can’t take yours Stig, you might need it this year. Says me with confidence.

Re: Solenoid
I've had a look on CSMNL to cross reference the solenoid numbers. For the 87\88 it says 42X8194000.
For the 89\90 it says 36Y8194000.
Am I right in thinking if the last eight numbers match, they are the same?
