Blue Spot Calipers

Evening all! Hope you are well!!

Should I replace my original callipers with blue spot ones?

My brakes feel fine but keep being told to change them to blue spot ones? Will I notice the difference and anyone tell me which ones I need to buy?

Got my bones from our resident bone maker and rides so much better!!

yes is the short answer for all.

I exchanged mine on my 'R' model and went from a full hand grab to two finger braking.

replace the master cylinder as well as the calipers to keep them matched.

I got a set from an FZ1 to get silver spots but gold and blue are options also

Yes they'll do fine. Ideally need a matching master cylinder too

I've just thought of something else.....

You'll notice on the original reservoir the banjo bolt fits to the side of the reservoir casing. On the other one the bolts fit at the front. As in photo. I've tried to find my original one in the garage to take a photo of it but I can't put my hands on it for the moment. You may think the banjo bolt sticks a long way out. I did, and I thought it would hit the clocks but it doesn't. You may also have to juggle about with the brake lines too, to get them in a position where they don't catch anywhere

I've found the original one now to compare it with.

Just realised that the previous owner has replaced the brake lines with braded hoses (front and rear)! I wonder if they make any difference?

Anyhow, ive managed to get a pair of blue spot callipers for it!

just waiting for delivery!

If you're still after a set of bluespots, I'll have a set of one piece (R1) bluespots looking for a new home when my goldspots arrive.....

If the master cylinder in the link came from the same set up as the blue spots then it should be fine.

Hi all

So I now have my blue spots and the guy has also sent me the master cylinder and lines.

I already have braded hoses fitted so was thinking to keep these on the bike.

Question is.............Any tips on how I bleed the brakes if I keep the hoses and replace the master cylinder and calipers?

Is it a case of squeeze the lever in and open the bleed valve, then close the valve and release the lever and do this on each caliper?7

That's correct procedure. They're a bitch to bleed tho. May pay to leave nipple open and wait for gravity to flow it tho
