The ones youíve bought will probably work but donít look too clever,

Iíve had my exhaust off a few times and reused the gaskets without any leaks.

Here are a set of 4 genuine Yamaha on eBay £ ...

The genuine gasket has a copper outer which sandwiches a fibrous metal centre.

Ah yes Iíve had a check and the YZF 750 and FZR1000 plug caps are the same but the Thunderace are a different part no for some reason, as long as they still fit Iím sure theyíll work fine,

The caps are the same as many other bikes of the era including the YZF750 and FZR1000, most people buy 2nd hand, usually from eBay, theyíre screwed onto the end of the lead and are easily changed.

Push the cover on without the gasket and see if thereís a measurable gap in that area.

I wouldnít worry about that, just pull the loose piece off, itís just excess sealant squeezed out when the cases were assembled thatís come loose.

Normally Iíd advise applying the hylomar on the cover so that it sticks to the cover and if you need to remove it again, the gasket comes off with it, I think in your case Iíd put some on the cases as ...
