Re: 1990 Clutch noise?

Looking at the parts diagram that’s the output shaft with the sprocket on the other end. Is there any play across that shaft
Any lateral movement horizontal or vertical?
I believe what you’re hearing is the free play in the gearbox. It’s the clunk when you drop it in gear.
When the clutch packs ...

Re: 1990 Clutch noise?

Can’t make out from video

Is the basket loose on the shaft as it’s splined internally

If it’s tight then the play is on the other end in the gearbox. Been a long time since I’ve had mine in bits regarding clutch so can’t remember how much play there should be

Exup freak or creed may know more ...

Re: ……And here we go

Had a busy day working on bike today. Started off by collecting a recently purchased headstock stand from Buxton then had to make a pin as the std fitments made the stand hit the underside of the top cowl. Not good!

So far progress has been good. New rear tyre fitted. Float bowls cleaned, new ...

Re: ……And here we go

It took about 15 seconds on the button but it fired up and sounded great.
I’ve removed the tank, dropped the bowls off and cleaned them out. I’m just waiting for new bowl gaskets to arrive to be able to reassemble
I’ve ordered a clutch slave rebuild kit too as that has leaked. If the kit doesn’t ...

Re: ……And here we go

Box is actually empty 😂

BUT, battery is on charge for a first charge when filled

And no, I’ve not found the bike yet. That’s the next task 👍

Re: WOW - BACK ONLINE

Hi. Welcome back👍. We’ve been back a few months now. Place is a bit quiet as many folk use FB nowdays, but a lot of the old crowd drop in regularly even if they don’t post much

I’ll have a word with my site assistant to see if it’s possible for individual users to choose between light and dark ...

Last year I was hoping to finally get the bike out but a mixture of family poor health and my son still overtaken the garage, it didn’t happen.

Happy New Year Karl :worthless:

Good to see you around the place. What bike do you have now?

The Irwin nut removers are really good. I’ve used them many times on various projects so should do the job

Re: Rear Tire size options

My bike has always had 180/55 on rear. Always handled ok for me so stuck with it
Narrower tyre may help it tip in easier depending on the profile

Re: compatible paddock stands

I personally use an ABBA style stand that I made years ago. This allows both front and rear to be off the ground at the same time if required ( plans available on main site)
Only downside is you can’t remove swingarm but there’s an alternative support point of the footrest hanger bolts if you adapt ...
